The challenge
What was going wrong
A UAE government organisation operated more than 150 workloads on an on-premises Nutanix platform and required migration to Azure while maintaining local data-residency requirements and implementing zonal disaster recovery — modernising infrastructure without disrupting critical government services, against strict security controls, application dependencies, legacy systems and government governance standards.

What we built

Classified the workload estate by criticality, performance, dependencies, compatibility, recovery requirements, migration method and modernisation potential.

Designed a target Azure architecture incorporating a landing zone, hub-and-spoke networking, Availability Zones, security appliances, identity integration, monitoring, backup, Azure Site Recovery, policy controls and centralised logging.

Transitioned workloads through discovery, replication, test migration, application validation, production cutover, post-migration testing and hypercare.

Designed zonal disaster recovery with zone-aware workload placement, replication, failover orchestration, recovery sequencing, DR runbooks, simulation exercises and failback procedures.
